Lammas, August 1st-6th

The beginning of Autumn

Lammas is the festival celebrating the harvest of the Summer which will need to sustain us all the way through the winter. The days become shorter and the Sun God’s power begins to diminish, we start to slow down as we adapt into the last half of the year. The farmers are beginning to harvest their crops and preparing to store them for the coming winter months. And we too are preparing ourselves and gathering all we have harvested and learnt this year. In this time we can reflect on the fruits of our labour from the earlier seasons and evaluate if these seeds/ or intentions have indeed flourished or grown and if not contemplate what we must change and do differently. Planting the correct seeds and working on nourishing what needs to be nourished first within ourselves. The season of Autumn we can let go and clear what isn’t growing or working for us anymore metaphorically speaking and also physically speaking. Just as Mother Earth sheds all her skins and prepares to start her cycle all over again. Just like we as woman do every month of our menstrual cycle and just like the Moon with her Lunar Cycle.
